—Confucius

Approach the hiring process as you would any endeavor—with preparedness for all contingencies. Multimedia is the modern-day arsenal for today’s job seeker. More and more job seekers and job consultants are using multimedia. Getting involved is an option that all those who are, or plan to be, searching for new employment should pursue. What follows is a list of contemporary core Netiquette principles for multimedia. Just as with ethics, logic, etiquette and Netiquette, all of points have many fundamental forms.

Core Principles Related to Multimedia for Job Seekers: Netiquette Modernized

1.   Use videos on cover letters selectively.

2.   Utilize different formats according to the matrix in chapter VI.

3.   Clear any email thread to only include the last email.

4.   Change the Subject field when appropriate.

5.   Send an immediate thank-you note.

6.   Verify that all applicant information is included.

7.   Emphasize you do not abuse email or social media.

8.   Establish a social network for your social media sources, and keep this all consistent.

9.   Think out of the box.

10. Emphasize your knowledge of social media, Netiquette and how to balance them to enhance for job-related projects.

11. Never put yourself in a position where you need to apologize.

What should you keep consistent—your various social media sources or your various contacts? In both cases, it seems that they vary according to the site.
