netiquette IQ Blog for 1/19/2018 - A New Portmanuteau



Recently, I was having a conversation with Ariel Evans, the CEO of Innosec http://www.innosec.com She mentioned a portmanteau term I had not previously heard and was not referenced in either of my Netiquette books (see below).

The term was "emeet" which refers to a meeting made by electronic communication. I wanted to bring this term out and recommend using the syntax I suggest.

Key Email and Internet Spelling Assumptions
            Presently, there are no standards for spelling internet words and terms.  While many of the words listed below may be spelled with dashes, the easiest way to remember is to use capital letters and (dashes as little as possible).  This publication recommends:
