Pandemic planning is a
strategic approach to business continuity that anticipates and prepares for a
widespread, dangerous outbreak of an infectious disease.
Every pandemic plan should have two parts: it should document
how the business' essential services will be provided in the event there is
significant and sustained absenteeism, and it should explain how the business
will implement and enforce non-pharmaceutical intervention.
Non-pharmaceutical intervention describes how an organization will reduce contact
between people to help prevent the spread of infection.
A pandemic plan for a small
business could be as simple as formally defining when employees should stay
home. A more complex plan might document how workflow would be affected if
